Since having our daughter, date nights in Aberdeen have become even more important to us. When we get the opportunity for some time together, you bet we make the most of it! Here are 3 of our top date night ideas in Aberdeen.
1. Farm Stop, Portlethen
If you love baby goats, highland coos and long haired sheep, then this is the perfect date night spot for you! Farm Stop hosts 'adult only' nights which are £30 per person and last for around 2 hours. Farm Stop also offer general tours for any age.
2. A Night at His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen
There is nothing quite like dressing up for a fun night at the theatre! We recently went to see The Rocky Horror Show which was fantastic!! It was not a show I knew much about before booking, but it was memorable for sure! One of the most exciting parts for us was the end when everyone, people of all different age ranges, stood up and danced to the Time Warp song. This excitement is echoed by Richard O'Brien who created the show, where in a Q&A he stated "The noise at the end of Rocky is wonderful – it is empowering and exhilarating at the same time it is quite joyous. Rocky never fails to deliver. Each performance lifts the heart and the nightly laughter and roars of approval leave the whole cast with a sense of wellbeing and accomplishment that you rarely get from any other shows."
While this particular musical is only in Aberdeen for a short amount of time, there are a huge variety of productions running each month.
We also enjoyed a pre-theatre meal at The Terrace - the theatre bar and restaurant - before heading down to watch the show. This was a beautiful setting with a wall of windows overlooking the newly done up Union Terrace Gardens.
3. Mini Golf, Bowling and Arcade at Cadona's, Aberdeen Beach
If you love a bit of nostalgia, this is the best date night location for you!! We never fail to have a laugh when we come here. Mini Golf at Cadona's was actually our second ever date back in 2015 and we still love coming here!
After playing some golf or bowling, take a few pennies for the arcade games. However there is nothing a disappointing as winning hundreds of tickets, to find that they can only be swapped for a tiny bag of Haribos...
There are also plenty of places to eat and drink around Aberdeen beach, from local business Big Manny's Pizza to chain restaurants like TGI Fridays and Pizza Hut.
Hopefully this gives you some fun ideas for date nights in Aberdeen! Where do you love going for something a little different?
